The Yes Expedition: Travel Guide

Hive & Den Social Club members' guide to arriving in style.
Your no-panic guide to getting here, getting on the ship, and arriving ready for sunshine & champagne.

Before the Ship

Every good expedition starts in Miami
Anthony and Amanda will arrive in Miami on November 30th and handle the legal paperwork at the courthouse on Wednesday, December 2nd.
Consider this the official paperwork chapter. The wedding itself will take place aboard Scarlet Lady on December 5th. That's the celebration we're bringing everyone together for.
You're welcome to join us at the courthouse if you're already in Miami, but there is absolutely no expectation that you attend. That evening, we'll celebrate with dinner, and we'd love for you to join us if you're in town.
All guests must arrive in Miami no later than December 3rd, embarkation day. If you're flying in that morning, leave plenty of time to collect checked baggage and get to Port Miami. Traffic can make the trip longer than expected, so plan accordingly.
WHEN TO ARRIVE
  • Arriving early (optional): December 1st or 2nd lets you join us for the civil ceremony and celebratory dinner.
  • Arriving just in time: December 3rd works too. Just give yourself plenty of time between landing and getting to PortMiami for your required embarkation and check-in time.
  • Either way: Just make it to Miami. Preferably with your luggage.

The Miami Chapter

WHERE TO STAY
If you're arriving early, you'll want to stay in Miami.
Downtown Miami and Brickell are our best recommendations. Both are convenient to the courthouse, restaurants, and PortMiami, with plenty of hotel options nearby.
Many hotels in these areas offer transportation to PortMiami, which can make embarkation morning wonderfully painless. We'll share specific hotel recommendations and booking information soon.
THE OFFICIAL PAPERWORK
Wednesday, December 2nd · Afternoon

Before we can say “I do” aboard Scarlet Lady, there's a little paperwork to take care of.
You're welcome to join us at the courthouse if you're already in Miami, but no need to make a special trip. The real celebration happens aboard the ship on December 5th. We'll share the exact courthouse location and timing closer to the date once everything is officially locked in.
THAT EVENING
December 2nd · Celebratory Dinner

Once the paperwork is done, it's time to celebrate.
We'll gather for dinner that evening, and anyone already in Miami is welcome to join us. Details to come.

GETTING THERE

BY AIR
Miami International Airport (MIA)
is the most convenient airport for the expedition and is roughly 20 minutes from Downtown Miami under typical traffic conditions.
FROM THE AIRPORT TO YOUR HOTEL
Uber, Lyft, taxi, or hotel transportation are all easy options.
If you're staying in Downtown Miami or Brickell, plan on roughly 30 minutes, depending on traffic.
FROM YOUR HOTEL TO THE CRUISE PORT
If your hotel offers a shuttle to PortMiami, that's probably your easiest option on embarkation morning.
Otherwise, Uber, Lyft, taxi, or a hotel-arranged car will work just fine. From Downtown or Brickell, plan on roughly 15–20 minutes, depending on traffic.
Flying in on December 3rd? Allow substantially more time. Between landing, collecting luggage, and getting to PortMiami, the airport-to-port journey can take 45–60 minutes or more, depending on traffic.

On Board

A few things worth knowing before you board:
  • Virgin Voyages is adults-only.  Everyone sailing must be 18+.
  • WiFi, dining, gratuities, and entertainment are included with your voyage.
  • Book your cabin!  Be sure to reserve your voyage through our group booking, so you're part of the wedding sailing and receive the group benefits.
A note before you start filling your calendar: we're planning a few optional group activities throughout the voyage and will share those details soon. If you're thinking about booking excursions or other activities, hold that thought. You may want to save some room in your schedule for us.

Things to Know

PASSPORTS
You'll need a valid passport for the cruise. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months after the cruise ends on December 7, 2026, meaning it must be valid through at least June 7, 2027.
If your passport doesn't meet this requirement, you will not be permitted to board the ship.
Check yours now. If it needs renewing, don't leave this one until the last minute.
WEATHER IN EARLY DECEMBER
Miami in December is nearly perfect. Think mid-70s, sunshine, and a welcome excuse to pack something other than a winter coat.
TIME ZONE
We're in Eastern Time. Set your watch.
DRESS CODES FOR THE EXPEDITION
Good news: there is no formal dress code for the cruise (except the wedding day!). Most days, come dressed for whatever kind of day you're having. Casual, resort, poolside, dinner-ready, repeat.
However, there are a few opportunities to play along:
  • PJ Party · Club 10:45p — Optional. Come as you are. Literally.
  • Scarlet Night · Ship-wide party — Optional. Wear red if you'd like to join the fun.
  • Wedding Day · December 5th — This is the big one. Colorful cocktail: dress like the ocean at sunset. See the Dress Code page for the full details.
Packing guidance for the full cruise experience is coming soon.
